Top 5 Rides in Disneyland Park!

Welcome back to DisforKids, where we talk about Disney as only a kid can tell it! I’m Sophie, and today we’ll be talking about the top 5 rides in the Disneyland Park, and how they differ from their Florida counterparts (if they have them). I’ve only been to Disneyland once, when I was 10, and it was amazing! I personally like Disneyland better than Disney World, because it was the original park, made by Walt, and the parks are super close together, so you can literally park hop. Well, let’s get into it!

1. Space Mountain: You’ll notice that my Magic Kingdom list also starts with Space Mountain. Well, it’s too awesome not to be at the top! This ride is super fun and thrilling. Its rockets have rows of two instead of rows of one, which I like.  Disneyland also does themed Space Mountains sometimes. When I went, it was Hyperspace Mountain and themed to Star Wars! At Halloween, it’s Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy. Sometimes, it’s even Rockin’ Space Mountain, with rock ‘n’ roll music! This ride is just as thrilling as its Florida companion, if not more!
2. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: This is another ride that has a Florida counterpart. Thunder Mountain is super fun and very different than the one in Florida. You go through the mining town of Rainbow Ridge on “the wildest ride in the wilderness” in a runaway mine car. This is a super fun coaster because while there are no large hills, there are many twists, turns, and small drops. At the end, you go through a cavern with dynamite. The dynamite explodes, and you rocket off out of the cavern. This is my mom’s favorite ride, and I’ve ridden it so many times (at least in Florida) that I can recite the entire safety announcement (complete with country accent)!
3. Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters: Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters takes you through a shooting gallery style ride to defeat the evil emperor Zurg. You fire lasers from your removable gun to hit the targets marked with the letter “Z”. Every time we ride this, my dad always gets a perfect score of 999,999 and gets to be the Galactic Hero. He even got an “I’m Celebrating” button from Guest Services! I’m usually pretty bad at this, but last time I got 423,000!
4. Matterhorn Bobsleds: Matterhorn Bobsleds takes you on a journey through the mountain. You race past the Yeti, take some sharp turns, and splash down in an Alpine lake. You sit one behind the other, three times. My mom did not like this ride because she thought it was too jerky. On the other hand, me and my brother loved it!
5. Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin: The Car Toon Spin takes you through the movie of “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” in Benny the Taxicab. The Toon Squad chases you and at one point, you can spin around by turning the wheel. This ride is in Toontown and it’s a really fun little ride. I rode it with my dad, and he’s super strong, so we spun around a lot! My brother, who was with my mom, was like, “No fair!”
