Hey guys! Welcome back to DisforKids, where we talk about the Disney parks as only a kid can tell it! It’s been awhile, and I’m sorry for that, but life happens! Now that things have calmed down a bit, I’ll hopefully be writing more often. Today I’ll be talking about Toy Story Land, all that it has to offer, and some of my favorite things about it. So, let’s get into it!
- Slinky Dog Dash: Slinky Dog Dash is an amazing rollercoaster that has not one but two launches and lots of twists and turns. I think the thrill level is in between Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This ride is super fun. My mom, who doesn’t like rollercoasters that much, loved it. My brother and I rode together the first time and we kept accidentally waving our hands in each other’s faces! One of my favorite parts is actually at the end of the ride, which is Wheezy singing, “You’ve Got A Friend in Me”. The Audio-Animatronic’s movements are super realistic, fluid, and just plain cool! Also, this is true for several rides in the parks, but Slinky Dog has a great Play Disney Parks game to play while you wait.
- Alien Swirling Saucers: Alien Swirling Saucers is a fun, crazy ride that has you spinning around and being jerked back and forth. This ride has the same track as Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree in Disney California Adventure, so if you like that, you’ll love Alien Swirling Saucers! My brother and I also rode this together, and we kept sliding back and forth like crazy! It was awesome! Also, this ride has a fun soundtrack, especially around the holidays. If you go around Thanksgiving or Christmas, it will have fun sci-fi versions of your favorite holiday tunes.
- Toy Story Mania: Okay, so technically this is not a new ride, but the queue and exterior are brand new. If you haven’t ridden this, here’s what it is. Toy Story Mania is a fun, 3D ride where you try to shoot the most targets on a series of 3D screens. For you fans of the old Mr. Potato Head Audio-Animatronic, you’re in luck! Disney decided to reinstall him, so you can see him when you’re in the Standby line of this ride. Unfortunately, you cannot see him in the Fastpass+ line. This ride also has a great Play Disney Parks game.
- Woody’s Lunchbox: Woody’s Lunchbox is a great restaurant in the heart of Toy Story Land that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They actually have really good food. For lunch or dinner, I recommend the Grilled Three Cheese (which I have had) or the Totchos, which I have heard are delicious. For dessert, breakfast, or pretty much anytime, I recommend the Chocolate-Hazelnut Lunch Box Tart, which is absolutely delicious. It has a really fun seating area too, with Babybel cheese chairs and tables, and Tinker Toy umbrellas.
These are just the main attractions/things to do in Toy Story Land. This land has so much more to offer, and I hope you check it out! I hope this post has been helpful to you in prioritizing your days at Hollywood Studios. Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you next time on DisforKids!
