Welcome back to DisforKids, where we talk about Disney as only a kid can tell it. I’m Sophie, and today we’ll be talking about the top rides in Epcot. I stayed at a hotel within walking distance of Epcot the last time I was there, so we went a lot. So, let’s get into it!
- Test Track: Test Track is an interactive ride in Epcot’s Future World West. It reaches a top speed of 65 miles per hour! You get to design your own car, competing with other people in your car for the top numbers in the attributes of capability, efficiency, responsiveness, and power. You go through tests to determine the winning car. I love to compete with my family for the winner, at least within our group. Once, a friend and I designed one of the top cars of the day! It was so fun. This is a really awesome ride.
- Soarin’ Around the World: Soarin’ is a super fun ride in The Land pavilion in Future World East. You sit on a “hanglider” and fly over landmarks around the world. You even fly over Neuschwanstein Castle, which is the castle that Cinderella’s Castle is modeled after. This ride is really scenic and cool. I like how it ends at Epcot during Illuminations instead of how the old Soarin’ ended at Disneyland.
- Mission: SPACE: Mission: SPACE is a simulator ride in Future World West that is flight training for an astronaut. You can be either Navigator, Pilot, Commander, or Engineer. Each position engages different actions. This is a really cool ride because you feel like you’re actually going into space. The green training is less intense while the orange training is more intense. I did the orange training for the first time and it was so fun! You feel the g-force of launch on your face and call me crazy, but I think it feels cool!
- Spaceship Earth: Spaceship Earth is a slow-moving trip that takes you back in time to show you the journey of humans. You even go backwards! My favorite part is the second half of the ride where you get to design you’re future. At the beginning, they take your picture and my picture always looks so weird and funny! After the ride, they have an area called Project Tomorrow and they have all these fun games to play. One is a spy racecar game that was my favorite when I was younger. The last time I went, my friend and I did this game where you expanded your city by moving energy clusters with these shuffleboard paddle things. It was actually really fun!
- Frozen Ever After: Frozen Ever After is a dark ride with a backwards hill at the end. It used to be Maelstrom, a Viking themed ride. This ride has some pretty cool Audio-Animatronics that utilize projected face technology. Also, the Marshmallow Animatronic is impressive just because of its sheer size! This ride also has a fun queue, with the Standby line going through Oaken’s store and sauna. Frozen Ever After is a fun, cute little ride.
